Now the first in Europe to be EN-13432 certified The seedling logo enables end-users to recognise environmentally-friendly products. The Moonen Natural coffee cup has achieved a new first. It is the first coffee cup in Europe to be certified according to EN-13432 by DIN Certco and Vincotte. This certification means that all the raw materials used in the cup (a biodegradable coating derived from corn, FSC Pure cardboard and water-based ink) comply with the European standard for compostable products EN-13432. This sustainable cup is environmentally friendly and 100% compostable. After all, it is produced from renewable, vegetable-based materials. EN-13432 certification enables Moonen Packaging to accept its responsibility towards the end-users of the coffee cup. After all, it is not self-evident to users that coffee cups can be disposed of with organic waste. Certification is demonstrated by means of the seedling logo or the OK Compost logo on the cup. The registration number 7P0274 shows the registration and the validity of the certificate. The coffee cup is part of the Moonen Natural range of products. This assortment has developed into a full line of environmentally-friendly packaging and disposables, produced from renewable vegetable-based materials. “With this certification we have taken a definitive step towards a closed eco-cycle within the context of the cradle to cradle philosophy”, says Koen Van den Eede, Moonen Natural Sales Manager.
