Moonen Packaging, of which Moonen Natural is a part, is BRC/IOP certified. In the first place, this certification is aimed at a high standard of hygiene to prevent contamination of the packaging materials. Beside good hygiene, the traceability of the materials and quality control is also important The BRC/IOP certificate is based on an assessment standard of the British Retail Consortium and the Institute of Packaging. The British Retail Consortium is a joint venture of several major British Retail organisations. In 1998, this cooperation resulted in a joint assessment standard for suppliers of foodstuffs. In October 2001, a new version, whose roots can be traced back to this standard, was published for the suppliers of packaging materials for food.
